Workshops Description:

All About Making Your Own Cards - Half day workshop. This half-day course is for you if you are keen to take up this rewarding hobby, or if you have dabbled in it but without much structure in your approach. Do you lack inspiration - do you buy card embellishments that you really don't know what to do with? This session steps back to give you an overview of the card making process. By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
◦ Employ a Variety of Blank Cards
◦ Experiment with Card Design Layouts
◦ Make stunning cards using everyday materials
◦ Apply the Basic Card Making Materials & Tools

Workshops Structure:

This is an interactive workshop. We will explore blank cards and card making materials and tools. I provide templates, hand-outs and a presentation. Rather than learning just how to  make a specific card, you will learn the process to make any card.
I am a fully qualified adult trainer, and have been a card enthusiast for seven years.

Workshop Prep - Card Making Sets

My workshops may last 1.5 hours on average, but the preparation takes another 1 to 2 hours as does the sorting up of the tools and materials post workshop.  Workshop Preparation  1. I select a number of card designs to make during the workshop.  2. I make Sample Cards to use as illustration at the workshop.  3. I prepare an ingredient pack for each customer with the exact ingredients to make the sample cards. 4. I pack excess materials for customers to use to create their own designs based on their experience of making the sample card/s. 5. I pack a selection of punches, labels, stickers, paper strips and squares and my guillotines.  6. Basically, less is more in Card Making- I try to trim down what I bring for the customer's to use, as otherwise it becomes overwhelming and the resulting cards are just a haphazard collection of pretty toppings without any design. 7. Post workshop everything gets dumped on my bags for sorting later on when I get home! Sample Card Pack for a workshop

Gatefold cards and Kraft cards

These are two of the card types we'll be making at my Card Blanks workshop. You'll discover that your choice of blank cards can provide you with inspiration to move out of your comfort zone and create your own unique designs. Email me at janmosullivan@gmail.com  for workshop details. I set up workshops on demand so if you let me know when suits you I will try to facilitate you.
